ARTICLE IX –COMMITTEES

SECTION 1 –EXECUTIVE BOARD:

The Executive Board shall consist of the elected officers (President, First Vice President/President Elect, Second Vice President, Third Vice President, Fourth Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer) plus the Immediate Past President.

Executive Board members are elected at each annual meeting, take office immediately following installation, and hold office until the next annual membership meeting. The Executive Board shall appoint the Parliamentarian and chairs of standing committees and special committees and shall transact emergency business as necessary between meetings of the board. A quorum of the Executive Board shall consist of five (5) of the nine
(9) members.

SECTION 2 –General Board and Other Committees:

The General Board shall consist of the Executive Board and Chairpersons of standing and special committees as shall be necessary. The standing committees are as follows:


A. MEMBERSHIP: Shall be responsible for:

  • Keeping accurate records of membership, including attendance at all meetings,
  • Keeping of name tags
  • Introduction of members
  • Sending out notices of membership dues two months prior to due date and collecting of annual dues
  • Notifying the Corresponding Secretary, Telephone Chair and Master File of all new and regular member information and changes.

B. HISTORIAN:

Shall keep an accurate history of the organization in scrapbook form.

C. PUBLICITY:

Shall be responsible for securing publicity for all activities.

D. TELEPHONE:

Shall oversee all telephone communications to the general membership at the direction of the President.

E. DIRECTORY:

Shall be responsible for the yearly directory to be distributed.

F. PARLIAMENTARIAN/BYLAWS:

  • Shall review the Bylaws annually and present any proposed changes to the membership
  • Shall also enforce Robert' Rules of Order.

G. GOOD CHEER:

Shall be responsible for sending any cards, flowers, etc. needed to cheer and/or congratulate any member.

H. MASTER FILE:

Shall be responsible for updating and maintaining the master file.

Each Committee Chair shall:

Additional committee chairpersons, as needed shall be appointed by the President.
